My name is Ken Mendonça and I would like to introduce myself. I am a Republican candidate for the RI House of Representatives District 72 seat, Portsmouth and Middletown, that is being vacated by Dan Reilly.
I am a lifelong resident of the East Bay and have been a Portsmouth resident for 19 years. I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree, in Information Systems Science and a Master of Business Administration from Salve Regina University and graduated from Rogers High School in Newport. I have been married to Nancy for 23 years and she is an educator at the Portsmouth Middle School. Our daughter, Kaleigh, attended Portsmouth Public Schools and is full-time student at Rhode Island College.
Professionally I have been employed by Rite-Solutions for 11 years as a program manager for the information technology networks branch supporting operations, maintenance, services, security, information assurance and cyber-security for NUWC. I have been employed in the local Aquidneck Island defense industry for a total of 23 years and prior to that period I was employed by a high technology firm in Middletown for nine years.
There are critical issues facing our state and Middletown and Portsmouth that call for hard work and innovative ideas to solve. During the coming campaign, I look forward to listening to your thoughts and discussing my ideas for turning this state around and improving the quality of life in our community.
