Good Bill: H-7332 – Relating To Criminal Offenses – Weapons – Representatives Casey, Chippendale, Keable, Newberry, and Solomon – This bill will ensure all records are deleted after a gun purchase ensuring no one creates any form on gun registry.  http://webserver.rilin.state.ri.us/BillText/BillText16/HouseText16/H7332.pdf

Good Bill: H-7390 – Relating To Criminal Offenses – Weapons – Representatives Lima, Carnevale, Corvese, Chippendale, and Costa – http://webserver.rilin.state.ri.us/BillText/BillText16/HouseText16/H7390.pdf  – This is the best bill that has been introduced in several years and will fix many of the problems we have today with the CCW permitting process. There are two parts to the bill. The first part makes some significant changes to 11-47-11 and standardizes the application as well defines “suitable”. It replaces “proper reason” with “lawful reason” as well. An appeal process is also defined and so are the processing times. There are also changes to 11-47-18 that are significant. We need you to support this bill!

Bad Bill: H-7419 – An Act Relating To Criminal Offenses — Disorderly Conduct – Representatives Almeida, Regunberg, Ajello, Williams, Abney – Makes certain disorderly conduct offenses subject to a fine of $500 only, while maintaining the current sanctions for disorderly conduct cases involving domestic violence. http://webserver.rilin.state.ri.us/BillText/BillText16/HouseText16/H7419.pdf

Good Bill: H7460 – An Act Relating To Fish And Wildlife — Birds – Representatives Corvese, Carnevale, Lima, Nardolillo, Chippendale – Legalizes the taking of wild migratory birds by crossbow. http://webserver.rilin.state.ri.us/BillText/BillText16/HouseText16/H7460.pdf

Bad Bill: H-7535 – will prohibit minors from possessing firearms without an adult (with a couple of exceptions). This bill or a similar version of it has been introduced for over a decade now… The problem is that minors that can participate in lawful target and hunting activity today may not be able to do this if this bill becomes law. For example, a minor will not be able to drive to the shooting range by himself (or herself) unless he/she is accompanied by an adult. Representatives Diaz, Slater, Hull, Maldonado, and Abney – http://webserver.rilin.state.ri.us/BillText/BillText16/HouseText16/H7535.pdf

Good Bill: H-7541 An Act Relating To Criminal Offenses — Weapons – Representatives Ucci, Chippendale, Nardolillo, Price, Corvese – Allows individuals with concealed carry permits issued by Massachusetts, Connecticut and any other state with a live fire requirement to carry concealed firearms within this state. http://webserver.rilin.state.ri.us/BillText/BillText16/HouseText16/H7541.pdf
