- Elected Officials
Rhode Island's Premier Republican Resource
When I first got involved in Statewide Party politics, there was an organization called RIRA that was very energetic and committed to electing conservative candidates in the General Assembly and Statewide. I joined that organization and eventually it was very instrumental in my election to State Chairman.
Like many individuals and groups in the Republican Party, energy wanes, and groups lose momentum. However, this State and our Party needs an organization directly supporting Conservative Candidates. The Rhode Island Republican Assembly (RIRA) is that organization and we need to bring it back.
In the past, RIRA has been adversarial with the Party. It’s mission has been to “fix” the party and RIRA eventually took over much of the leadership of the Party to find that what we intended to “fix” can’t be fixed and other parts that we sought to control is very damaged. The kind of damage that can only be fixed by success at the ballot box.
Going forward, I do not believe it to be in anyone’s best interest to be adversarial with the Party. The Party is what it is and we need to be what we need to be, a Conservative voice supporting Conservative candidates for office.
I would like to call a meeting for Saturday, February 10th at 1 PM, at RI GOP HQ’s to discuss what is required to rejoin the National Federation of Republican Assemblies and how we can organize for success at the ballot box this November and going forward.
Please let me know if you will be able to attend.
